William M. O'Connor Jr., 42, of Ashland died unexpectedly on Sunday Sept. 4th while at work. He was married to his love Erin (McGrath) O'Connor and was the son of William O'Connor Sr. and Linda Shahood. Billy was loved by everyone; and was always there with a helping hand when someone was in need. He will be sadly missed by his family and large circle of friends. Billy was also a member of Local 4 and he worked for Crane and Rigging/Hallamore Corp. for the last 17 years. He enjoyed all sports and played hockey with the Code Men's Hockey League and softball at the Ashland Fish and Game.

In addition to his wife and parents; he is survived by two sisters; Kelly O'Connor and Samantha Rucki, both of Ashland, and his step-father, Dennis Provencal of Ashland. He was the brother of the late Sean O'Connor who died in 1992.

A funeral service will be held Saturday Sept. 10th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Friday from 3:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Billy's memory to Baypath Humane Society, 5 Rafferty Road, Hopkinton, MA 01748
