William A. Mackin, 85, of Hopkinton passed away Sunday Dec. 30, 2018

Born in Millinocket, ME; he was the son of the late Harold and Frances (Oliver) Mackin and husband of June (Baker) Mackin. Bill had a long career as an appliance repair technician before becoming an instructor of appliance repair for Assabet Valley Tech. School and Blackstone Valley Tech. School. Mr. Mackin served his country honorably with the Navy as a Boiler Technician in the Pacific during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children; David Mackin and his wife Marcia of Upton, Paula Langdon of Virginia Beach, VA, William Mackin Jr and his wife Anne of Moyock, NC, Mark Mackin and his wife Lisetta of Litchfield, NH, Pam Neild and her husband Chuck of Litchfield, NH, and Scott Mackin of Hopkinton, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday Jan. 5 ^th at 10:00am in St. John the Evangelist Church, 20 Church St. Hopkinton, MA. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hopkinton Senior Center, 28 Mayhew St. Hopkinton, MA 01748
