Obituary

William (Bill) Karb of Ashland, died on November 15, 2023 after a short illness at the age of 66.

Bill was the son of Richard and Betty Karb of Framingham. He graduated from Framingham North High School and then attended Skidmore College.

In 1985 Bill met the love of his life, Janice, and they spent twenty wonderful years together before her passing in 2006. They were proud parents of Hilary Tuscher and Chelsey Karb, and Bill was a doting Papa to his granddaughter, Ellie. He leaves his brothers, Rick and wife Michelle Karb, Peter Karb and partner Johanna, as well as his nieces and nephews Jeff, Becky and spouse Clare, Maureen, Megan, and Ryan, and their children, all of whom he loved so much.

Bill was an artist and musician, and was most recently employed at W.B. Mason as the Art Director. He would be the first to tell you that he enjoyed his work and the company so much, it wasn't really work at all. Thank you to Leo and his W.B. family. He has now unintentionally made sure that every time you see that bright, eye-catching W.B. Mason truck, you will think of him.

Bill was the greatest example of living life to the fullest and loving unconditionally. He spent many summers at the family cottage on Long Beach in Rockport, MA. He loved the nostalgia and the new memories being made there. He loved skiing, especially a half-price Wednesday at Bretton Woods. He loved his motorcycle, particularly when everyone could hear him coming from a mile away.  For a man that couldn't sit still, he was the most calming presence in the room. He had an amazing talent of being both a regular and a migrant at the same time.

To remember Bill, we will have calling hours on Friday, November 24th from 4-7pm at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.

A public celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 25th from 12-2pm, in true Bill Karb fashion at Cherry Blossom in Ashland where we hope you will enjoy a mai-tai or two in his honor.
