William Bresnick, 89 of Ashland formerly of Weston passed away Friday June 16th. He was the husband of Betty Jo (Corley) Bresnick and they had been married 60 years. Born in Malden, MA, he was the son of the late Samuel and Sarah (Balin) Bresnick and had lived in Ashland for over 20 years. He received his B.S. Business Administration, L.L.B. and Juris Doctorate from Boston University. He was a licensed Massachusetts and Federal Attorney, a pilot and Air Traffic Controller, Real Estate Broker, Notary and Contractor-Builder. He supervised the Boston Air Traffic Control Center and was President of the Boston Chapter, New England Chapter, and National Air Traffic Control Association. He chaired the Boston Federal Safety Council and the North Atlantic Regional Federal Safety Council. He also wrote the manual which is used as the text for training FAA operators. Mr. Bresnick was very active in Ashland town government, attending most town meetings and served on the Ashland Senior Advisory Committee. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons: Barry Bresnick and his wife Donna of Ashland and Keith Bresnick of Ashland, six grandchildren: Sara Bresnick-Zocchi, Rachel (Bresnick) Lipson, Jason Bresnick, Stephen Bresnick, Carrie Bresnick, and David Bresnick. He also leaves his daughter in law Deborah Bresnick of Ashland. He was the father of the late Garen Bresnick. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 20th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland. Calling hour information following the service.
