Obituary

Virginia Frances (Kinnarney) Sibson, 95, a lifelong resident of Ashland, died January 13th at Bethany Healthcare in Framingham, MA. Born in Framingham, she was the eldest child of Hubert Patrick Kinnarney and Margaret Alice (Garvin) Kinnarney. She leaves two sisters, Sr. Eileen Kinnarney of Troy N.Y. and Kathleen (Kinnarney) Geoghegan of Framingham. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Kinnarney. Virginia was a graduate of the Ashland school system. She loved to be active, playing field hockey and tennis. She retained lifelong friendships with her schoolmates. She always owned horses, her first given her by her uncle John Collins, later she and her sister Kate bought two big chestnuts, which they thought might be bargains when they saw them running away with a hay wagon! She leaves six children; Jane Monti of Florida, Anne, Michael, William, Peter Sibson and Eileen Warren of MA. She was predeceased by her husband, David Sibson and her son Stephen Sibson of Falmouth. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Monti of NY, Sean, Devin, Tully and Liam Sibson of MA Christine and Emily Warren of MA and one great grand child, Cameron of MA. She leaves many beloved nieces, nephews and relatives. She was a lifelong member of St Cecilia's Parish; was active in her community and organizations. She enjoyed the old Knit and Knock Club and hosted the Beagle and Foxhunting clubs at her farm. She loved her faith, her farm, far too many animals and children-lots of children! Many said they grew up partly at home and partly at Glean Maura Farm. At the age of 69 she began a career as an adventure traveler. She trekked on horseback through China, Iceland, Africa, France and over the Sacagawea Trail. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 29th in St. Cecilia's Church 54 Esty Street at 9:00am with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held at the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main Street Ashland on Tuesday evening January 28th from 5-7pm.
