Virginia D. (Acevedo) Porter, 82, passed away Sunday, August 7th . Artist, wife, and mother of four, she is survived by her husband Henry; children Henry David, Nancy Jean, John Charles and Cameron Nichols; and five grandchildren. Devoted to her husband of 60 years, Porter was actively involved in family life until her decline in health in July. A talented artist, Porter was a founding member of the Wellesley Arts and Crafts Guild (1971-2002), where she was also a president and treasurer. Her B.S. degree in Art Education from the Massachusetts College of Art led her to teach enameling at various locations, including the Worcester Crafts Center and the DeCordova Museum. Friends are invited to join the family in celebrating Mrs. Porter's life on Saturday, August 20 at 2 PM in the Unitarian Church located at 309 Washington St. Wellesley, Ma. Flowers can be sent to arrive at the church on August 19.
