Obituary

Vincent R. Trincia,  84, passed away at home on July 15 th . He was born August 19, 1936 in Framingham, son to the late Annie Trincia (Iarussi, Ottaviani) and Amedao Trincia.    He graduated from Framingham H.S.  Vice Pres. in 1954.    He attended Maine Central Institute, then went on to the University of Maine, Orono, earning a Master's in Arts and Science. He became a teacher and coach starting in Canaan, Vermont, Wells and Sanford, ME before moving back to MA and teaching at Lincoln Jr High, Framingham South High, and retiring from Framingham High in 1998.

He was an avid sports fans and played football, baseball, and basketball in high school and at MCI Prep.  He coached and officiated until his retirement.

He spent summers as a life guard on Wells Beach and was aquatic director at a YMCA summer camp in Springvale,  ME.  He built two summer cottages in Ogunquit and Wells, Maine.

Vincent was very handy and always had projects.   He loved doing home repairs or remodeling for anyone who needed help and fully rehabbed two homes of his own in MA.  After retirement, he enjoyed going to Florida to play golf, the casinos, and horse racing, and returning to his summer home in Wells, ME.

He is survived by his first wife, Nancy Townsend and their four children, Sherri Trincia Obrien, Vincent Trincia, Jr., Nicole Trincia, Tori Trincia-McGowan and her husband Edward McGown; Grandchildren Brittni, Hayley, and Brooke Obrien, Tiffanie (McGowan) Deary, and great granddaughter Mia Piece.  He is survived by his sister Doloris Lavin and husband Robert Lavin.

Preceded in death were his siblings Rita Mancini, Tomassena Marchetti, Louis Ottaviani, and Benedetto Ottaviani.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning 9 AM at St. Cecilia's Church, Esty Street, Ashland.  Calling hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 4-7 PM from the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA.
