Timothy Henry Oakes, 56, of Ashland passed away Sat. Oct. 28th  unexpectedly after a period of declining health.  Born in Framingham, he was the son of Thelma (Good) Oakes and the late David T. Oakes.  Tim was a longtime resident of Boston before moving to Ashland to be closer to his family.

In addition to his mother; he is survived by two sisters; Linda Gould and her husband Glen of Suffield, CT; and Sherry Gidney of Worcester; and two brothers; Glenn Oakes of Woonsocket, RI; and Dan Oakes of Nevada.  He also was very close to his four nephews, Sean and Ryan Gidney; and Scott and Christopher Gould.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Nov. 4th at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  Calling hours will be held Saturday from 2:00-4:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society,  P.O.
