Obituary

Thomas R. Eagan, of Ashland and most recently Framingham, passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Aug. 21, 2024. Born in Framingham on October 26, 1933 to the late Thomas F. and Ebra C. (Cotter) Eagan, Tom lived a full life dedicated to family and his passion for woodworking.

A 1951 graduate of Framingham High School, Tom went on to build a 42-year career with Boston Edison, where he began as a lineman and rose to the position of supervisor. His dedication to his family and friends was evident in his love for crafting, particularly the beautiful rocking horses he created for his nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and many family friends.

Tom was predeceased by his beloved wife Barbara (Annesi) in 2022, his cherished daughter Kathleen in 2012 and his sister Barbara (Eagan) Cox of Framingham. He is survived by his children Thomas Eagan, Jr. and his wife Denise of Topsfield, Timothy Eagan and his husband Brian of Quincy, and Gabrielle Porciello and her husband Eugene of Mendon, four grandchildren, Thomas Eagan and Timothy Eagan of Topsfield, and Evan Porciello and Ethan Porciello of Mendon. He is also survived by his brother Robert of San Diego, California, his sister Ellen of Castle Rock, Colorado, and his brother John and his wife Carla of South Dennis, his sister-in-law Patricia Potenza of Northbridge, and brother-in-law William Annesi and his wife Donna, of Mendon, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday Aug. 26th at 11:00am in St. Matthew Parish, 26 Highland St. Southborough, MA with burial to follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery in Framingham.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
