Theresa (Terry) M. Martin (Leclerc), formally of Southborough, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2016 in Scituate, Massachusetts under the loving care of her family, the staff at Life Care Center of the South Shore and South Shore Hospice. Terry is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Isreal (Bud) Martin and two children, Denise Nicholson and Thomas Martin both of Massachusetts. She is survived by her six children; Steven Martin of Texas, Rosemary Boothby of Vermont, Craig Martin of North Carolina, Cynthia Rizzotto of Massachusetts, Ivonne Maxwell of Texas and Sharon McKinnon of Arkansas. Additionally, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive Terry. She is also survived by one sister; Francis Ford of Maine.
Terry was born on June 12, 1927 in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of Beatrice (Lavigne) and Pierre Leclerc. She met and married Bud on October 28, 1950 in Cornish, Maine and commenced a military wife's adventure traveling throughout the US and the Far East all while having and raising eight children. Terry's love of crochet was legendary and all of her family have many examples of her fine work. When she wasn't crocheting, she could be found in the kitchen working on a jig saw puzzle or word search. She loved a good game of Spite and Malice and played it frequently with her children. In her earlier years, she enjoyed yard work and gardening and babysitting her grandchildren. Terry was a devout Catholic and member of St. Anne's Church in Southborough, Massachusetts.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 11th from 5-7PM at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne's Church in Southborough on Saturday, March 12 at 10AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery in Southborough.Visits: 0
