Theodore (Bill) Ralph Rohde, 84, died peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2011, at Leonard Morse Hospital with his family. He was born in Mansfield, MA on February 22, 1927 and was the son of the late Emma Kairit and Theodore A. Rohde. Ted is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 59 years Joan D. (Bagaglio) Rohde, his sister Olga E. Mantell, his children William P. Rohde of Northbridge and his wife Nancy Rohde, Beth A. Frothingham of Newton and her husband Thomas D. Frothingham, and Mary Ellen Gagne of Westborough and Randy Gagne of Lynnwood. He was the proud Grandfather of Nicholas, Michael, Clara and Laura ... four little people that always brought a smile to his face. Ted grew up in Holliston, MA, graduated from Holliston High School and lived in Ashland since 1952. He retired from General Motors in 1983 after 35 years of dedicated service. Ted was an avid golfer, "card shark" and a life member of the VFW after service in WWII on the USS Colonan. He would always help anyone who needed assistance. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 11th at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Burial will be private. One calling hour will be held from 12:00-1:00 PM prior to the service.
