Sue A. Johnston, 64, of Hopkinton, passed away, Thursday, May 13th at her home in Hopkinton after a courageous 3 year battle against lung cancer. Born in East Detroit, MI; she was the daughter to the late Edward and Mary Jo (Malloy) Perrin, and wife to Richard C. Johnston. They were married for 40 years. Mrs. Johnston was a second grade school teacher at the James Russell Lowell School in Watertown for 35 years, retiring in 2005. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Andrea Johnston and her husband Jesse Whipkey of Ithaca, New York. Memorial calling hours will be held Sunday from 4:00-6:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
