Stanley S. Tabol age 91 passed away after a long illness. Born on January 14, 1923 in New Wynn, Pennsylvania was the son of Ludwig and Apollonia (Ziobra) Tabol, and husband of the late Laura M. (Ciarcuski) Tabol and predeceased son Paul P. Tabol. After graduating from Redstone High School, he moved to Connecticut and entered a program sponsored by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft & University of Connecticut. Shortly there after, he entered the Army Air Corp. of WWII. He was stationed in England with the 8th Air Force 448 Bomber Group and completed 37 missions over occupied Europe. Among his awards were the Air Medal, 5 Clusters, & the Distinguished Flying Cross. After being honorably discharged he re-entered the University of Connecticut to complete his studies. He retired from Digital Equipment Corp. in 1989. He remained an active member of the 2nd Air Division 448 Bomb Group, the station 146 Tower Association Seething Airfield of Norwich Norfolk England, and the VFW Post # 2331 Ashland, MA. He was a member of Saint Jeremiahs Church, a past President of the Saint Vincent De Paul Society, also was an active participant in the Parkinson's Disease Support Group at the Callahan Senior Center. Stanley is survived by one son; Stephen M. Tabol of Groton, MA; along with 2 nieces; Anna Marie Simcic of Hartford Ct., and Miriam Johnson of Simbury Ct.; 5 nephews; Joseph Simcic of Enfield Ct., Francis Simcic of Newington Ct., Walter Tabol of Stone Mt. GA., and Bernard Tabol, of Manchester Ct.; along with grandnephew, Francis S. Simcic Jr. and grandnieces Katherine Anne Simcic, Donna Marie Simcic, and Debora Cornock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9AM on Thursday October 9th, 2014 at Saint Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland with burial to follow in the family plot at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
