Shirley (Murphy) Sullivan, 84, of Westminster, MD, formerly of Framingham and Wellesley, MA passed away Fri. March 8th at her home with her family by her side.  Born and raised in Wellesley, MA, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Isabella (Carpenter) Murphy.  She was the wife of the late George L. Sullivan Sr. who died in 2006.  Shirley was a devoted mother and grandmother who, after her children were grown, worked as a bookkeeper for the Framingham Housing Authority until her retirement in 2003.  She later moved to Maryland to be closer to her family.

Mrs. Sullivan is survived by 5 children; Barry G. Sullivan of Putnam, CT; Michael E. Sullivan of Tallahassee, FL; Laurel A Barrett of Westminster, MD; Jane M. Putnam of Ashland, MA; and George L. Sullivan, Jr. of St. Augustine, FL, her sister Jan Osborne of Medway, MA, and her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Thursday March 14th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 9:00-11:00am prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers donations in her name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association – www.alz.org
