Shane L. Merrifield, 24, of Framingham died Tuesday, August 25th. He was the son of Lance Merrifield and Katie Murphy. A graduate of Framingham High School Class of 2009, Shane attended Framingham State Univerisity in 2012-2013. He was a member of the Dog Owners Group of Callahan State Park, where he could often be found walking his beloved dogs Teddy and Leo Minor. In addition to his parents; he is survived by one brother; Colin Merrifield of San Jose, CA; and Sydney Merrifield of Framingham; paternal grandmother; Perces Merrifield of Gorham, ME; and maternal grandmother; Elizabeth Murphy-Sparrow of Ridgewood, NJ. Shane is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins all over the country. Calling hours will be held Sunday Aug. 30th from 1:00-4:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. A Ceremony of Readings and Remembrance will be Sunday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm following the viewing hours.
