Sandra J. Mimms, 59, of Ashland passed away Sunday Sept. 24th with her family by her side. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of Mary (LaPreste) Joy and the late John Drapeau. After graduating from Framingham South, she went on to become a respected part of management at Sunlife in Wellesley. A longtime and well-loved resident of Ashland, Sandra enjoyed her role as cook and caretaker for Mill Pond Rest Home residents for many years. She was a member of the Greater Ashland Lions Club.

In addition to her mother and step-father Stephen Joy, Sandra is survived by two daughters, Alexandria Mimms of Southboro, and Laura Mimms of Woodbridge, VA, two sisters, Deborah Valpey and her husband Ted of Holliston, Gina Lelio and her husband Brian of Hopedale, one brother, Michael Joy and his wife Cathy of Medway, her aunt Jean LaPreste of Milford, her uncle Anthony LaPreste and his wife Carol of Milford, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held Wed. Sept. 27th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
