Obituary

Samuel (Boots) G. Walker of Ashland and Falmouth, MA passed away suddenly, but peacefully at work on April 2, 2012 at the age of 84. He was the son of the late Samuel R. and Katherine Walker of Newton, MA; husband of the late Agnes T. Walker and grandfather of the late Matthew R. Leeds. He is survived by three children and their families: Kathleen and Dr. Lino Mariano of Canton, MA; Karen and Charles (Chip) Leeds of Bellingham, MA and Francis and Melanie Walker of North Attleboro, MA, 7 grandchildren: Jennifer Boniface of Watertown, MA, Michael Leeds of Whitinsville, MA; Christian Walker of Wakefield, MA; Cory Walker of Westminster, VE; Mallory Walker of North Attleboro, MA; Susan and Thomas Mariano of Stoughton, MA and 5 great-grandchildren: Gianna, Dylan, Ryan, Estelle and Rebecca. He was a World War II Veteran of the Merchant Marines, serving as a radio officer at sea. He was founder and President of Reklaw Machine Corp. in Holliston, MA. He enjoyed many good times with family and friends at his summer home on the ocean in Falmouth, MA. Sam was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, an avid sportsman and traveled the world extensively with his late wife, Agnes. Calling hours will be Saturday 4-7p.m. at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA; funeral mass at St. Cecelia's Church, 54 Esty Street, Ashland, MA on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. and interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Ashland, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation, 100 Park Avenue, Suite 108, Rockville, Maryland 20850.
