Samuel "Herb" Bixby, 85, of Ashland, passed away, Thursday, May 29th at Elliot Healthcare in Natick. Born in Manchester, NH; he was the son of the late John and Henrietta (Van Fliet) Bixby, and husband of Alice (LaJoie) Bixby. They were married 63 Years. A resident of Ashland for 52 years, he was employed as a Mechanical Engineer with Digital Corp., retiring in 1987. Mr. and Mrs. Bixby enjoyed square dancing and were members of the "Fairs and Squares Club". He served his country honorably with the Army during WWII as a Medical Technician. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Linda J Bixby of Whitinsville, MA; one son, Steven H Bixby of Round Pond, ME; and one granddaughter, Caroline Bixby. He was the brother of the late Allen Bixby of Manchester, NH. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7th, at 11:00am in the Federated Church of Ashland. There are no calling hours.
