Sally was born in Newton Upper Falls, MA and graduated from Newton High School in 1940. The fourth oldest in a family of seven children and the daughter of Armenian immigrants, Sally placed a high value on hard work and self-sufficiency. She worked all of her life from a very young age, and was last employed as a supervisor at Raytheon in Newton and Quincy where she worked for many years, until she retired. Sally never once complained about hardship of any kind and was determined to care of herself, which she did fully until she was 90. She was so beloved by her family and the many friends she had in her life. Fiercely independent, stoic and good humored, despite her long-standing affliction with Multiple Sclerosis, Sally also cared deeply for others. She loved her family above all and demonstrated this in many ways. She was actively involved in the lives of her nieces and nephews throughout their childhoods and beyond, giving them so much love and attention. She was a role model for the kind of person one should aspire to be: generous, authentic, self-directed, loving and fully engaged in life. For many years in her hometown of Ashland, she served people in her community through her work with the senior citizen organization, arranging trips and community activities to promote a high quality of life for older adults. She was well known, loved and respected in her hometown where she gave so much to so many people. Through her work with the Council on Aging, she was formally recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts State Senate for her service, dedication and commitment to the betterment of the lives of Ashland's senior citizens when she was chosen to be the Grand Marshall of the Ashland Day Parade in 2000. Sally is indelibly a part of all of us who love her and she will be deeply missed. A private family service is planned. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Greater New England Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O.
