Ruth G. Parker, 92, of Cranston, RI passed away Thursday March 2, 2006 at the Rhode Island Hospital after a period of declining health. Mrs. Parker was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucy (Freise) Graver. Mrs. Parker was a graduate of Barnard College in NY majoring in biology. She was a loving homemaker who delighted in caring for her husband and sister Dorothy. She had a lifelong love of science. She also enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was the wife of the late Edward Parker who died in 1973. They were married for 40 years. Mrs. Parker is survived by her son Arthur and his wife Karen of Framingham. She also leaves two grandchildren; David Parker and his wife Jennifer of Little Elm, TX and Deborah Parker and her fiancé Larry Cantor of Sudbury. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Graver, Dorothy Graver, and Lucy Graver. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA (www.mataresefuneral.com) on Tuesday March 7th at 2:00 PM. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
