Russell H. Kniveton, 83, of Ashland, passed away, Friday, July 14th, after a brief illness. Born in Fall River; he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Hawthorne) Kniveton. He was the husband of Jeen (Curtin) Kniveton; to whom he was married 54 years. A resident of Ashland for 54 years, Russell was employed with General Motors Co. in Framingham for 54 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Kniveton served his country honorably with the Army, 391st Infantry in the Pacific Theater during WWII. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Michael J. Kniveton and Lawrence F. Kniveton. A funeral service will be held Monday July 17th at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. One calling hour will be held from 2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 300 Howard St., Framingham, MA 01702.
