Rose (Lampasona) Amalfi, 91, lifelong resident of Ashland passed away Wed. Sept. 6th after a brief illness.  She was the beloved wife of Modesto "Mud" W. Amalfi for 68 years.  Rose worked with her husband operating Amalfi Excavating Co. but is mostly remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, William Amalfi and his wife Karen of Florida, Michael Amalfi and his wife Pamela of Ashland, Barbara Diamond and her husband Richard of Falmouth, and Diane Barbieri and her husband Peter of Holliston, seven grandchildren, Sarah Staley, Christopher Amalfi, Alex Amalfi, Lindsey Murphy, Richard Diamond, Lauren Barbieri, and Pete Barbieri, four great-grandchildren, Sloane, Elle, and Brooke Murphy, and Oliver Staley, and one brother, Anthony Lampasona and his wife Jackie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday Sept. 11th at 10:00am in St. Matthew's Parish, 26 Highland Ave. Southborough, MA with burial to follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery in Framingham.  Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ashland Emergency Fund, PO Box 112, Ashland, MA  01721
