Senior Master Sergeant Ronald E. Philbrick (ret) 54 of Ashland passed away August 23rd 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was the husband of Margarita (de la Mora) Philbrick. Born in Fairfield,CA He was the son of Charles Philbrick of Ashland and the late Jane (Pontremoli) Philbrick. He had served in the United States Air Force for over 30 years both active duty and Air Force Reserve retiring in 2008. He was employed by Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) as a quality assurance specialist. Besides his wife and father he is survived by his children: Rebecca Philbrick of Framingham, Ronald Philbrick Jr. of Attleboro, Joanna Philbrick of Ashland, Caitlyn Philbrick of Ashland.Three brothers: Richard Philbrick and his wife Cami of Marlboro, Gerald Philbrick and his wife Tracy of Whitinsville, and Joseph Philbrick and his wife Lisa of Gardner, and many nieces and nephews. Ron was an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins. He loved his truck and being in Mexico. A funeral Mass will be said on Saturday morning, August 27th in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland at 9:00am with interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Calling hours will be held on Friday evening from the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main St. Ashland from 5-7pm.
