Roberta F. (Davis) Giles, 64 of Ashland, died February 7, 2006. She was the wife of Richard A. Giles, Sr. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Keegan) Davis and had been a resident of Ashland for 35 years. She was devoted to her family, volunteering in the Boy Scouts, coaching Youth softball and supporting Ashland Youth Hockey. She was employed by Kidde-Fenwal in Ashland for 28 years, where she received many awards for her work and was a member of the Quarter Century and Inner Circle Club. She retired in 2004. She enjoyed spending her summers in York Beach, Maine with her family and friends. Besides her husband, she leaves her children, Erik A. Watling and his wife, Lisa, of Lake City, Pennsylvania, Cindy L. DiPlacido and her husband, Michael, of Hudson and Sheri R. Grant and her husband, Kevin, of Sutton; her stepchildren, Jeffrey A. Giles, and his wife, Tara, Richard A. Giles, Steven A. Giles and his wife, Annita, and David A. Giles; her twin brother, Robert F. Davis of Framingham, brothers, Charles J. Davis of Burrillville, R.I., Gerald A. Davis of Framingham, Edward N. Davis of Ashland and Lawrence D. Davis of Ashland; sisters, Dorothy M. Bassette of Agawam, Barbara A. Peters of Ashland and Caroline J. Noonan of Bradenton, Fl. She also leaves her grandchildren, Sophia, Ariana, Michael and Marco DiPlacido, Emily and Evan Watling, and Sarah Grant; step-grandchildren, Matthew and Dante Giles, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her former husband, Harry W. Watling Jr. of Dennis. She was also the mother of the late William Watling who died in 1968. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland at 10.00 on Saturday February 11th with interment to follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham.
