Robert A Richards, 85, of Ashland passed away Thursday March 30th. He was the husband of the late Faith (Calhoun) Richards who died in 2005. Mr. Richards worked as a manager for General Motors until his retirement in the
late 1980's. He was a proud grandfather, an avid golfer, amateur photographer, dedicated member of the Federated Church of Ashland and loved his flower garden. Bob served his country honorably with the Air Force during
the Korean War.
He is survived by five children; Stuart Richards and his wife Susan of Fredericksburg, VA; Brian Richards and his wife Dianne of Upton; Steven Richards of Ashland; Barry Richards and his wife Brenda of Hopkinton; and Karen Bridges and her fiance' Ed of Mendon; nine grandchildren; Shelley, Shauna, Sabrina, Suzannah, Robyn, Tyler, and Nathan Richards, and Jake and Matt Bridges; and close friend, Marcia Volk. He was the brother of the late Harry and John Richards.
A funeral service will be held Wed. April 5th at 10:00am in the Federated Church of Ashland, 118 Main St. Ashland. Calling hours will be held Tues. from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Federated Church of Ashland, 118 Main St. Ashland, MA 01721.
