Robert "Bob" Reni, 72, longtime resident of Ashland passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Monday, January 26 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late George and Rita (Franchi) Reni.

He was a cherished Nonno to his four granddaughters Kate and Ella Hamilton, Coco and Paige O'Reilly and uncle to 8 nieces and nephews.

Bob was a graduate of Ashland High School 1971, a graduate of Davidson College and earned his Master of Business Administration from Babson College. He was an accounting manager at Raytheon Corporation for 35 years before his retirement in 2012. Outside the office, he was the proud coach of many Ashland youth softball teams.

An avid golfer from an early age, Bob grew up playing at the Framingham Country Club, played collegiately at Davidson College and was more recently an active member of the Country Club of New Bedford. He earned many accolades during his storied amateur golfing career including Junior Golf Massachusetts State Champion in 1970 at the age of 17 and Legends Division Champion of the Massachusetts Super Senior Amateurs in 2024 at the age of 71. Through golf, he also earned many wonderful friendships that spanned the course of his life.

When he wasn't at the golf course, Bob enjoyed taking sunset strolls around Parkwood Beach, boating and fishing with Pam in the waters of Buzzards Bay, tackling ambitious challenges, including the construction of a wooden replica of 'Stockbridge Main Street at Christmas' by Norman Rockwell, sharpening his knowledge of American and British history, chopping wood, providing sage advice and wisdom to his two daughters, and most of all, spending time with his family and granddaughters.
