Robert James Hill, 63, of Ashland, passed away, Saturday, Nov. 3rd, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Robert and Rita (Dupuis) Hill and husband to Andrea (Giammarco) Hill. They were married 34 years. A graduate of Northeastern University, Mr. Hill moved to Ashland in 1977 and was very involved in the Ashland community. He worked as the Building Inspector and Zoning Officer for the Town of Ashland for the past 26 years, was a member and past Chair of the Metrowest Building Inspectors Association, Sealer of Weights and Measures, measurer of Wood and Bark, Fence Viewer, and ADA Coordinator. He was also involved with the Local Emergency Planning Committee, Technical Review Committee, Fair Housing Committee, Affordable Housing Committee, was a member of the Board of Trustees at Keefe Technical School in Framingham and previous member of the Ashland Lions Club and participated in Youth Baseball. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Holly-Jean Hill Barros and her husband Mario of Ashland, one son, Chris Hill of Ashland, a brother, Thomas Hill of Framingham, and a sister, Ann Hill of Framingham. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 8th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
