Robert "Bob" Jorgensen, 89,(6/13/2018) and Ethel Marie Jorgensen, 90, (6/14/2018) passed away one day apart after 63 years of marriage.  Robert worked for many years as a graphic arts teacher at Keefe Technical School in Framingham and Ethel worked as clerical staff at Framingham Union Hospital.  They made their home in Ashland where they were devoted to raising their son Glenn Jorgensen who died in 2003.  Robert was an accomplished watercolor artist, winning numerous awards in both regional and national shows.  He was a silver medal recipient from the Allied Artists of America and was on the board of directors for the New England Watercolor Society and past president of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.  He was also devoted to the Boy Scouts of America; an active member of Troop 2 in Ashland where he was a silver beaver recipient from the Algonquin Council and Vigil member of the Taunkacoo Lodge – Boy Scouts Honor Society.  Mr. Jorgensen served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War.  Ethel attended the Federated Church of Ashland, was a member of the Theta Phi Deltas and often volunteered in the church Thrift Shop.  They are survived by one grandson, Ryan Molander of Plymouth, MA, as well as their numerous friends made in their neighborhood, artist, Boy Scout, and church communities.

A memorial service will be celebrated Thursday Aug. 16th at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  They will be interred together in a private ceremony at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ashland Emergency Fund, PO Box 112, Ashland, MA  01721
