Robert A. Dionne, 79, of Ashland passed away Friday, Jan. 9th after a period of declining health surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary (Bohn) Dionne for 54 years. Mr. Dionne worked as an electrical engineer for Raytheon and Draper Labs. He was a member of the American Legion James O'Carey Post 77 in Ashland and a past commander of the Ashland VFW Post 2331. Robert served his country honorably in the Navy. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons: Robert Dionne and his wife Lisa of Milford; James Dionne and his wife Cyndi of Milford; David Dionne of Ashland; and Michael Dionne and his wife Lisa of Ashland; seven grandchildren; Brian, Rachel, Jeffery, Brianna, Jacob, Matthew, and Emily, two great-grandsons, Brady and Grayson, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eleanor Santospago of Natick. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 17th at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 1:00-3:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
