Rita Reni, 94, longtime resident of Ashland passed away Friday July 21, 2023.  Born in Framingham, she was the daughter of the late John and Enrichetta (Parasoli) Franchi.

Rita was married to George Reni from 1952 until his death in 2003.  After raising her four children Rita returned to work for several years as a real estate broker.  She was a board member of the Ashland Historical Society, often participated in the Ashland Senior Center, and longtime member of the Framingham Country Club.

She is survived by three children, Robert Reni (Pam) of Ashland, Paul Reni (Ann) of Seattle, WA, and Marcia Reni (Rob Scherer) of Ashland, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, one sister, Theresa of Fl, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was the sister of the late Rose Morley, Polly O'Connell, and Eleanor Franchi, and mother of the late Steven Reni.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tue. July 25th at 10:00am in St. Matthew Parish, 26 Highland St. Southboro, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.  Visiting hours will be held Mon. from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
