Rita Pauline Porter, 84, of Ashland, died Wednesday, March 19th at Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham. Born in Natick, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Edna (Fairbanks) Scott and wife of the late Richard John Porter. She was a resident of Ashland for 57 years. She devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a loving wife and mother to eight children. Mrs. Porter is survived by three daughters; Maureen Musgrave of Ashland; Donna Lambert of N.Providence, RI; and Janice DeMello of Holliston; three sons; Gary Porter of New Hampshire; John Porter of Ayer; and Michael Porter of Holden; one sister, Grace Stone, 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Diane Rund, who died in 2003; the late Daniel Porter, who died in 2006, and sister to the late Charles Scott. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 26th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery.
