Richard W. Ward, Sr., 82, of Ashland passed away October 26th in Framingham. Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Everett and Eva (Frizzle) Ward. He is survived by his long time partner Mary (Penney) Mortensen; daughter, Kimberly Ryan and her husband Mark of Norton; son, Rick Ward and his wife Debbie of Hadley; a sister, Alice Macumber and brother, Robert Ward, both of Natick; and five grandchildren: Evan and Adan Ryan, Emily, Hannah and Rachel Ward. He also leaves his four dogs, Morty, Mindy, Lucy and Snicklefritz. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30th in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland at 4:00 PM. Calling hours will be held from 2-4 PM prior to the service.
