Richard E. Gentille, 74, former longtime resident of Holliston, MA passed away Mon. April 15th after a long battle with cancer.  Born in Baldwin, NY; he was the son of the late Edward and Ruth (Clarke) Gentille.  Richard was the loving husband of Jean (Smith) Gentille for 54 years.  Richard and Jean owned and operated Ben's Deli in Southborough together for 25 years.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by three children, Renee Massauro and her husband Frank of Ashland, Heather Carew and her husband Bryan of Foxborough, and Ryan Gentille and his wife An of East Milton, six grandchildren, Anthony and Danielle Massauro, Brielle and Cadence Carew, and Logan and Arya Gentille, two sisters, Karen Irving of Carver, and Gail Ronayne and her husband Mark of Bridgewater, nephew, Richard Irving and his wife Laura of East Bridgewater, as well as several additional nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Fri. April 19th at 11:00am in St. Mary's Parish, 8 Church St. Holliston, MA with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Holliston.  Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Richard's name to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168, in support of Pancreatic Cancer research.
