Richard "Dick" Fannon, 85, of Ashland, passed away April 14th in Natick after a period of declining health. He was born in Ipswich, the son of the late Edward and Adeline Fannon and had lived in Ashland over 70 years. He was a graduate of Ashland High School Class of 1942. After serving his country in the United States Army, he attended and graduated from Northeastern University with a BS in Engineering. He was employed with Raytheon Corp. and in later years he developed real estate in Ashland. He was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland and an active member of the Ashland Historical Society. He is survived by many nieces and nephews including Julie Fannon of Wayland and John "Jack" Fannon of Holliston. A funeral Mass will be said on Friday morning in St. Cecilia's Church, Esty St., Ashland at 9:00am with interment at 1:00pm in the Highland Cemetery in Ipswich. Calling hours will be held on Friday morning from 8:00am to 9:00am at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland.
