Obituary

Richard Wallace Brown, Jr, 57, of Woodville passed away Tuesday June 11th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Nancy (Moore) Brown for 28 years. Richard worked as a painter for Chicarrelli Painters for many years. His true passion was fishing and the outdoors; he was a longtime active member of the Mass. Beach Buggy Assoc.; member of the Plum Island Surfcasters; and volunteer mentor fisherman with the Friends of Parker River Wildlife Refuge. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Shirley (Sawyer) Brown of Ashland; one brother, Stephen Brown of Milford; two sisters, Muffi Brown of Ashland and Linda Whiting of Millville; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. One calling hour will be held Wednesday from 10:00-11:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the MA Beach Buggy Assoc. c/o Scott Morris, PO Box 1264, Harwich, MA 02645.
