Richard F. Briggs, 83 of Plymouth passed away Friday Oct. 7th after a period of declining health.  Born in Hyannis, he was the son of the late Theodore and Genevieve (Kendrick) Briggs.  Richard was a licensed electrician in the Plymouth and Cape Cod areas for the past 50 years, most recently working for Buzzards Bay Electric.  He served his country honorably with the Army National Guard for several years.   Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and quahogging, and had a passion for weather, spending many moments at the ocean during New England storms.

Mr. Briggs is survived by three children: Marcia Shipley of Knoxville, TN, Richard Briggs of Medway, MA, Terri Briggs of New Bedford, MA, and was preceded in death by his daughter Donna Briggs.  He has five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Services are private and under the direction of the Matarese Funeral Home of Ashland, MA.
