Raymond Wesley Peterson, Jr; 67, of Hopkinton, passed away, Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (McNeil) Peterson. He was the husband of Elaine (Stone) Peterson; they were married 47 years. A resident of Hopkinton for over 40 years, Mr. Peterson worked as a currier for Shawmut Bank for 15 years and later as a truck driver for J&R Auto Body Supply Co. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants. Mr. Peterson loved and enjoyed his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children: Deborah Barney and her husband Todd of Milford; Raymond Peterson III and his wife Kristin of Lowell; and David Peterson and his wife Nancy of Houston, TX; four grandchildren; Jason and Ryan Barney, and Nathan and Riley Peterson; two brothers; James Peterson of Strasburg, VA and Charles Sheehan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Patricia Flannery, Eleanor Arena, and Elizabeth Parker. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 21st at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. There are no calling hours.
