Raymond R. Parabicoli, 85, of Ashland passed away Sunday, January 18th at his home surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of Fern (Munyon) Parabicoli for 64 years. Mr. Parabicoli started his career in building contracting with Parabicoli & Sons Construction, which was owned by his father, Zefferino Parabicoli. He continued his career with Joseph E. Bennett Company, All Steel Building Company and ultimately founded and operated Ashland Building Company, Inc. for over 20 years. During his retirement, he continued to consult on large construction projects such as being named chairman of the Ashland High School Expansion Committee in 1997, and most recently had enjoyed being a school bus driver for surrounding communities. Raymond proudly and honorably served as Corporal with the 7964th Army Unit's Headquarters in La Rochelle, France during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters; Linda Maregni and her husband Paul of Ashland, and Cheryl Rocheford and her husband Irving of Ashland; one son; Mark Parabicoli and his wife Kristin of Uxbridge; nine grandchildren; Brian, Christopher, and Thomas Maregni, Michael, Stacia and Ryan Rocheford, Allyson, Julia and Megan Parabicoli; and three great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Raymond A. Parabicoli who died in March 2014. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3rd at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
