Raymond Joseph
Deverix
Apr 13, 1940 — Jun 26, 2024
Falmouth
Raymond J. Deverix, 84 of Falmouth, formerly of Ashland, MA passed away Wed. June 26th with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Linda (Cavaretta) Deverix who died in 2010. Ray served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1958-59. He was self employed as a stone mason for many years with many of his projects completed in the MetroWest area as well as Cape Cod. Ray was a lifelong avid fisherman, from fishing under the Moody St. bridge in Waltham as a child to fishing for stripers on his own boat the Rose & Crown on Cape Cod, he was truly devoted to the craft. He was fond of strolling the docks of Falmouth Harbor to talk with the charter boat captains and spent countless hours in retirement making his own jigs and lures. He was never happier than with his family and friends with a fishing pole in his hand.
He is survived by one son; Michael Deverix and his partner Jen Nataly and their children, Hannah, Brendon, and Celia Deverix, and Cameron and Andrew Nataly, all of Rochester, MA; two daughters, Laurie North and her children, Davis and Reese North, all of Plymouth, MA; and Kristen Matarese and her husband John, and their children, Jack, Joseph, and Ella Matarese, all of Ashland, MA.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 30th from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. A private funeral mass will be held at a later date.
Donations in Ray's name may be made to Rifles to Rods, PO Box 133, Ashland, MA 01721
