Randa Ruth
Frye
Nov 1, 1943 — May 17, 2024
Ashland
Randa Ruth Keith Frye, of Ashland Massachusetts, born on November 1st, 1943 in Camden, ME, passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 80, on Friday, May 17, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Randa was the daughter of the late Verne Asa and Ruth (Beverage) Keith, and she was the wife of the late Ernest W. Frye, for 57 years.
Randa graduated from Greely High School in Cumberland, Maine, as the senior class president as well as the president of the national honor society (during these years she met the love of her life, Ernest William Frye, whom she dated on and off for over six years until ultimately eloping on December 31st, 1965, much to the chagrin of their families.) Following high school graduation, Randa worked hard at Day's Crabmeat and Lobster, picking crabmeat by the pound to save money to attend school at Westbrook College in Portland, Maine, where she won the prize for the Miss Westbrook Maine Beauty Pageant. Following her short time at college, Randa headed off to Washington D.C. to work for the government.
Once she and Ernie married, Randa devoted much of her life to homemaking. She was afforded the ability to stay home and raise her two children their entire lives. This was her greatest desire and she considered it a full time career. Eventually, as God would have it, her husband left the corporate world to become the founding pastor of Latter Rain Christian Fellowship, later known as Metrowest Worship Center, and now Connect Church in Ashland, MA, so she became a pastor's wife and spiritual mother as well. She was the leading lady and momma of this spiritual house for over 25 years. Along with her husband she founded Metrowest Ministries, through which they began MetroWest Christian Academy, Dream Station and MetroWest Caribbean Mission. Later acquired were the Early Learning Center in Grafton, as well as Wee Folk Learning Center, all of which fell under the umbrella of MetroWest Ministries, now Connect United. Through their years of dedication to God, together, their lives have impacted multiple thousands around the world.
In particular, Randa found a deep love and affection for the people of the Dominican Republic and so, devoted most of her latter years building the MetroWest Caribbean Mission, leading countless mission's trips which she herself was on, right up until her passing at the age of 80! Also to be noted was her long standing involvement, influence and impact, at Shadows Shelter for Women of Ashland Massachusetts, weekly for over 20 years. Randa had great purpose and was changing lives for Jesus even until her final hours through her life message: The Ripple Effect.
Randa's biggest accomplishment however was her family. Survived by her two children, Deryck Frye (56), and his wife Stacy of Hopkinton and Ginelle Payne (53) and her husband David of Sutton, seven grandchildren, Devon Frye and his wife Natalia, Mallory Frye, Madison Arnold and her husband Jarod, Morgan Martinez and her husband Anthony, Ashton Couchman and her husband Curt, and Kelsie and Dakota Payne, along with five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter. The ever present matriarch of her family, continually influencing each and every member with her confidence, her love, her continual interest in each and every aspect of her loved ones lives and her love of Jesus Christ.
Randa was reserved yet powerful, behind the scenes, yet impactful, classy and the perfect complement and helpmate to her husband of 57 years. She was a constant in the lives of her children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. She always remembered every detail of their lives, praying for each and every situation with repeat follow up calls to see that her prayers came to fruition. She was meticulous, detailed and perfectionistic in everything she did. She was an avid reader and an avid walker right up until her passing, sometimes walking 2-3 miles a day, several times a week. She loved vacationing at the ocean and found great relaxation and refreshment there. It's no wonder her entire home was blue. Even her favorite color had meaning to her and quite truthfully, brought healing. Randa was wise and insightful and perceptive to those around her. She was a faithful wife, committed mom and Mimi, confidant to all who knew her and above all a servant to the Lord Jesus Christ.
To know her was to be remembered by her. She could account for the details of many, many lives, and therefore her appreciation for humanity and those from all walks of life were deepened!
"Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your rest."
