Obituary

Ralph "Chick" Palumbo, 88, lifelong resident of Ashland passed away Monday Sept. 25 th after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Lincoln) Palumbo for 63 years. Born in Framingham, he was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Moscaritolo) Palumbo. Ralph was self employed as a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the American Racing Pigeon Assoc. and enjoyed birding, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He especially loved spending time at his hunting camp in Vermont with his family and friends. Mr. Palumbo served his country honorably during the Korean War in the Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, William Palumbo and his wife Maryann of Linwood, MA, and Robert Palumbo of Ashland, two grandchildren, William and Jennifer Palumbo, whom he adored, sister, Elizabeth Conner of FL, brother, Rocco Palumbo of ME, and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antoinette Neal, Thomas Palumbo, Rose Kinney, and Marion Shepherd.

A funeral service will be held Friday Sept. 28 th at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-7:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham MA 02452
