Pietro "Peter" Raffi, 84, longtime resident of Framingham passed away Tue. Jan. 20th after a period of declining health. Born in Italy, Peter was the son of the late Virginio and Graziosa Raffi. He was the loving husband of Louise (Goyette) Raffi for 55 years. Peter worked as a custodian in the Wellesley School System for 33 years retiring in 2002. Before immigrating to the US, Mr. Raffi served in the Italian Army Alpini specialist mountain infantry. He enjoyed cross country skiing with his wife, hiking, going to the beach, and landscaping, especially building stone walls around his home.
In addition to his loving wife, Peter is survived by two sons, Jason Raffi and his wife Yan Gao of Brookline, and Christopher Raffi and his wife Rebecca of Framingham, and one granddaughter, Isabella Raffi.
A brother to a large family of ten siblings, many of whom live in the Boston area, his brothers and sisters include Modesto (deceased) and his wife Caterina, Leonita and her husband John (deceased), Paola and her husband Orlando (deceased), Aride and his wife Maria (both deceased), Alba and her husband John (deceased), Edda and her husband Bruno (both deceased), Cristoforo, Enos (deceased) and his wife Marie Ann, Anna Maria (deceased), and Sergio and his wife Maria, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wed. Jan. 28th at 11:00am in St. Tarcisius Church, 562 Waverly St. Framingham, MA with burial to follow in St. Tarcisius Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
In lieu of flowers donations in Peter's name may be made to Alzheimer's Association P.O. Box 96011. Washington, DC 20090-6011
