Phyllis A. DeSalvo, of The Lodge at Golden Pond in Hopkinton, formerly of Ashland, died after a long and fulfilling life of 94 years. She died surrounded by her loving family.

Phyllis was born on April 29th, 1923 in Worcester Massachusetts.

She was daughter of the late Harry and Bertha Whittaker. Phyllis was the wife of the late John DeSalvo, the mother of the late Elaine Roberti and grandmother of the late Jesse Graves.

She is survived by her daughter Janice and her husband Robert Graves of Tucson, AZ and Dennisport, MA, her son John DeSalvo and his wife Mary of Ashland, and her son-in-law, Robert Roberti of Ashland.

She leaves behind six grandchildren; Troy Barlous and his wife Diane of Tucson, AZ, Sharon Bennett and her husband Barry of Ashland, Rob Roberti and his wife Maureen of Ashland, Tracy Byrnes and her husband Bobbo of Anaheim, CA, John E. DeSalvo and his wife Gorette of Westborough and Tom DeSalvo of Ashland. Seven- great grandchildren; Jennifer Oswald and her husband Mickey of AZ, Troy Barlous II of AZ, Michael and Matthew Roberti of Ashland, Casey, Corey and Abby Bennett of Ashland, and Kennedy DeSalvo of Westboro. She also leaves two great, great granddaughters, Olivia and Lily Oswald of AZ and many nieces and nephews.

After retiring, Phyllis received her Bachelor's Degree in 1976 from Framingham State College with a Major in English and a Minor in Psychology. Phyllis received her Master's Degree in 1986 from Framingham State College in Counseling with a concentration in Gerontology.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 27 from 9:00AM to 11:00AM at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street in Ashland. Funeral services will follow calling hours at 11:00 on site in the Matarese Chapel. Burial will follow after the services at the Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd. Southborough.
