Peter William Place, 67, of Ashland passed away Friday, June 7th at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Eugene and Frances (Bill) Place and husband to Maureen (McKenna) Place. They were married 44 years. Peter served his country honorably with the National Guard as a Military Policeman and later worked as a mechanical engineer with Raytheon Co. for 25 years retiring in 2011. A resident of Ashland for 32 years, Peter was an active member of St. Cecilia's Parish in Ashland. He enjoyed fishing, was an avid animal lover, and a master woodworker, creating many pieces for his daughters homes. In addition to his wife; he is survived by three daughters; Christine Bache and her husband John of Hopedale; Kimberly Dustin and her husband Craig of Framingham; and Kelly Devine and her husband Herb of Scituate; and eleven grandchildren; Lucas, Trevor, and Joseph Bache; Peter, Kiley, Zachary, Benjamin, and Cecilia Dustin; and Lyla, Ivey, and Tula Devine. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wed. June 12th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Needham. There are no calling hours.
