Peter Charles Kenney, 77, longtime resident of Ashland, MA  passed away Sunday July 28, 2024 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham, MA. Born in Lawrence, MA he was the son of the late Thomas and Janet (Collins) Kenney and husband of Suzanne (Clark) Kenney.

Peter graduated from Suffolk University with a degree in Economics and pursued graduate studies at Northeastern University. Early in his career, he was a Senior Research Analyst for the Commerce and Labor Committee and the Public Safety Committee of the Massachusetts Legislature. He then worked as a Compensation Analyst for various companies until his retirement. He enjoyed reading, chess, crossword puzzles, getting impeccably dressed for any occasion and playing pool.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Leigh A. Kenney and her husband John Gouzoules of Belmont, Gail E. Miller and her partner Benjamin Derouchie of Wellesley, and Thomas C. Kenney and his partner Haley Verre of Somerville, four grandchildren, Jack, Owen, Dylan, and Nate, and two sisters, Ellen Kenney of Lawrence, and Jean Rodriquez of Sahuarita, AZ. He was predeceased by his dear brother Paul T. Kenney.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday Aug. 1st from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  A graveside service will be held Friday August 2nd at 11:00 AM in Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell Street in Methuen, MA.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to: Tufts Medical Center Development Office, Attn: Katie Puzo, 800 Washington Street #231, Boston, MA 02111.  The funds will go directly to Cardiac Nurse Education at Metrowest Medical Center.
