Peter E. Ivers, 78, of Ashland, died peacefully on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Waterview Lodge in Ashland.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Edward J. Ivers, Jr. and the late Bridget M. (Greene) Ivers. A resident of Ashland for many years, he was a graduate of Framingham High School and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps (1 ^st battalion, 3 ^rd Marines). He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and was a longtime member of the American Legion James O. Carey Post 77.

He leaves four daughters, Christine Ivers of Provincetown, Jennifer Ivers of West Roxbury, Meagan Boyd of Marlborough, and Erinn (Catie) Ivers, and her husband JuanCarlos Estrella, of California; the two beloved daughters of his late partner Mary M. (Flaherty) English, Rene Gies and Bethany English; siblings Paul Ivers of Blackstone, Michael Ivers of Framingham, Mark Ivers of California, and Kathleen Ivers of Florida; his former wife Patricia (Donohue) Ivers; and four grandchildren, James Boyd, Nathaniel Ivers Mahoney, and Lucia and Colette Estrella. He was the brother of the late Marylou Daly of Hopkinton.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Sunday, January 19 ^th at 4 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4 PM prior to the chapel service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Metrowest Marine Corps League Detachment #1037, P.O.
