Obituary

Peter P. Ford, 87, of Ashland passed away Tuesday Sept. 25th at his home in Ashland. He leaves his wife of 32 years Grayce (Buder) Ford. He was a resident of Sherborn until moving to Ashland 9 years ago. Mr. Ford worked for the US Postal Service for 40 years retiring in 1985 and later worked for the Framingham Savings Bank. In order to support his family he worked many part time jobs and proudly cared for many ball parks and skating rinks for the former M.D.C, not the Dept. of Parks & Conservation. He was a member and past president of NARFE - National Association of Retired Federal Employees - Framingham Local 506. Mr. Ford served his country honorably with the 98th Infantry Division in the South Pacific during WWII . He was a member of the American Legion Post 77 in Ashland and the Framingham Knights of Columbus. He was loved and will be missed by many. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Paul Ford and his wife Karen of Merrimack, NH; and Allan Ford and his wife Lindsey of Waltham; five daughters: Kathy Bottari and her husband Tony of Brighton; Carol O'Connor and her husband Jack of West Roxbury; Ellen Ford of Brighton; Linda Osgood and her husband Willie of Allston; and Joy Marderosian and her husband John of Wellesley; 8 grand children and 4 great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 28th at 10:00am in St. Stephen's Church, Concord St. in Framingham. Interment will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 6:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
