"Perc" Chappell, Sr., 91, left this world on June 14. He peacefully passed away of natural causes surrounded by family and good friend Nancy
Boyns. Perry was born on September 6, 1930, in Portland, Maine. He joined the Air Force in 1947 and served for 27 years. He married Roselma Clark (late) of Waterville, Maine in 1955, and they traveled the world together while Perry was in the military. After his military service, Perry continued in his career field as a Recreation Director at the Eagles Club until his retirement. He was an avid sportsman playing basketball and handball; and was a referee/umpire of basketball, baseball, and volleyball. He excelled at handball receiving many awards including 3rd place in the master's single division at the 53rd National Handball Tournament in 1981.
Perry leaves behind his three children, Landie Chappell, of Spokane, Washington, Perry Chappell, Jr., and his wife Doris, of San Antonio, Texas, and Lacey Chappell-Denaro and her husband Victor, of Ashland, Massachusetts. He is also the proud grandfather of Kyle Gwinnup and his wife Yiqun, Mackenzie Denaro, and his significant other Sandra, Nicholas Denaro and his fiancée Mikayla and Devin Denaro and his significant other Brenda; and also leaves great-grandchildren Aaliyah Denaro, Lucas Gwinnup and Ryan Denaro.
He will rest with Roselma at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery near Spokane, Washington.
