Obituary

THOMPSON, Paul B., 93, of Georgetown, MA, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born on March 7, 1933, in Salem, MA, Paul was the beloved son of the late Carl G. and Helen (Barnard) Thompson. He was raised on Giles Avenue in the Ryal Side section of Beverly, where he developed the values and steadfast spirit that would define his life.  Paul now joins his beloved wife, Catherine "Buffy" (Conlon) Thompson, who passed away on July 22, 2025. Together, they built a loving home in Georgetown and raised their family with unwavering devotion.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his three sisters, Mary K. Thompson, Jacqueline 'Lee' Carlson, and P. Dayle Kohut, as well as his son Patrick Thompson and daughter Erin Livingston. A devoted husband and father, Paul's legacy lives on through his surviving children: sons Sean Thompson of Georgetown and Brian Thompson of Sheffield; daughters Suzanne Ramos of Orlando, FL, and Kelly Stronach of Haverhill; along with nine cherished grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A man of unwavering dedication and service, Paul attended Suffolk University and proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard. His professional life was marked by a long and successful career as a general contractor. Beyond his occupation, Paul generously devoted his time and talents to the community of Georgetown, participating in numerous public service projects and holding several elected positions, earning the respect and admiration of many.  Paul's infectious smile and warm laugh, coupled with a keen sense of humor, left an indelible impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Friends and family are invited to pray for and honor Paul's life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Saint Mary's Church, 94 Andover St., Georgetown, MA, with interment to follow.

The Thompson family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate Home Team caregivers of Care Dimensions Hospice and the staff at the Kaplan Family Hospice House for their tender and professional care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923, or to a charity of your choice.
