Obituary

Paul Charles McIntosh, 75, of Ashland, passed away, Wednesday, Feb. 7th, at his home surrounded by family. He was the husband of the late Dorothy (Wickman) who passed away in 2003. Born in Everett, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late George and Alice (Houlihan) McIntosh. Paul spent his early years in Gloucester and then moved to Newton in 1937 where he attended Newton High School graduating in 1949. He attended the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and served with the US Coast Guard from 1952-1955. In 1958 Mr. McIntosh moved to Ashland and worked for the Raytheon Company for 15 years. In 1980 he left Raytheon to start Polytek Associates, as a manufacture's representative for electronic devices. He retired in 1998, spending winters in Brooksville, Florida. Mr. McIntosh was an avid sailor and golfer. He had a passion for history and all things Scottish and enjoyed hand carving signs, operating McIntosh Sign Company. Many of his signs can be found throughout Ashland and Metrowest. He is survived by four children: his sons, Wayne and his wife Donna of Ashland; Douglas and his wife Kassandra of Minneapolis MN, and his daughters, Susan McIntosh, and Paula Lentoni and her husband Paul of Ashland; his grandchildren, Scotland and Jaymeson McIntosh; Daniel and Melissa McIntosh; Alexander, Benjamin and Calissa Lentoni; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a sister, Helen McIntosh Wilson of Florida, and an uncle, Charles McIntosh of Gloucester. He is the brother of the late George L. MacIntosh who passed away in 1980. A Memorial service will be held Thursday February 15th in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
